I still remember the slight discomfort I felt leaving the job I had such strong passion for—20 years of my life in the fashion industry. I grew up walking around factories, helping at my father’s company, watching people sew. Come to think of it, it wasn’t just 20 years—it was my entire life. It was what made me who I am today.
What sparked my change was the belief that the future belongs to brands that understand people care about well-being and purpose just as much as aesthetics. I wanted to dig deeper into the wellness world.
Today, I am a certified Health Coach and Aroma Counselor. I run a private advisory practice focused on fashion and wellness. I’m also an entrepreneur, co-founder of Yabbey—a digital fashion library created to preserve and share industry knowledge for generations to come.
During the times I have slowed down, I started appreciating things again—looking at the sky, feeling the sun, enjoying meals with my family, and having little chats during walks to school. These were not new things; they had always been part of my life. But I realized I never took the time to stop and truly appreciate those moments. Perhaps it wasn’t that I didn’t have the time—I was just too busy, trapped in life, like so many of us are in this busy world and think today will last forever.
Throughout my journey, I’ve been discovering some wisdom, things I wish I had known when I was younger. I want to share these discoveries as I continue to learn along the way. A little bit of change every day, with compounding daily habits, can eventually lead to something big and started sharing them through social media.
As my daughter calls it, “Chotto-bit.” In Japanese, “chotto” means “a little.” she used to combine it with the word “little-bit”.
I still like to believe that if all of us were just “Chotto-bit” more caring—of ourselves, our planet, and each other—we could make a much bigger difference.
